Current and emerging eHealth activities in Tasmania are creating significant demand, growth potential and opportunities for the development of innovative information and communication technology eHealth solutions. It is anticipated that the development of these solutions will not only contribute to the continued growth of the Tasmanian eHealth industry but will find ready markets for these solutions in other health care systems within Australia and Internationally.
For Tasmania to capitalise on and leverage these activities and opportunities it is essential that stakeholders within government and the Health and ICT sectors are able to identify, assess and communicate their respective requirements, capabilities and capacities. To this end members of the eHSRG were contracted by the Department of Economic Development to undertake a comprehensive audit of skills and requirements within the Tasmanian eHealth Industry.
