The School uses a web-based preference system to allow student to select preferred tutorial times from a list of available tutorials for each unit they are studying within CIS. The system is activated at 9:00am on Monday in week 1 of semester. After the closing date, the system will perform all allocations based on preferences and availability. You can access the system when it is online via the link towards the bottom of this page.

Note: Prior to accessing the tutorial preference system, you will need to have activated your CIS account. You must have an current enrolment in CIS units to be able to activate your account - see the kiosk machine outside the School's Help Desk or access it via http://kiosk.cis.utas.edu.au. (Continuing students from first semester CIS units do not need to reactivate).

The closing time for the Tutorial Allocation System will be on Friday July 19th, at 12:00 noon. If you have not saved your preferences by this time you will miss out on the automatic allocation process and will need to visit the School's Help Desk for manual allocation from the remaining tutorial spaces. After closing, the tutorial preference system is in view-only mode - you can only view your allocated tutorials. For any modification you must visit the School's Help Desk.

Please do not confuse the School's Help Desk with the Central Service Desk (managed by ITS). The Service Desk can only assist with central systems, such as email, web-access etc. They will refer you to our Help Desk anyway if your query is in relation to CIS systems.
