Since its establishment in 1887 by Australian universities, the Australian Music Examinations Board has provided young students with a musical pathway from beginner to diploma level. This has been achieved through its carefully graded syllabus and assessment system.The success of the AMEB in developing internationally recognised standards of performance and an extensive range of accessible publications has been made possible through the input of musicians and teachers throughout Australia. The AMEB in Tasmania is administered by the Conservatorium of Music on behalf of the Minister for Education and Skills in Tasmania.
