The University of Tasmania Conservatorium of Music presents
The Magic Flute
Music Director Myer Fredman
Director: Victor Kazan
Assistant Director: Darren Sangwell
The Magic Flute, Mozart’s final masterpiece, is a timeless, comedic and ultimately redemptive tale of love, adventure, reconciliation and the quest for enlightenment. This ever-popular work has delighted audiences young and old for over two centuries with stratospheric arias, jolly folk tunes and profound music as Prince Tamino attempts to rescue the daughter of The Queen of the Night from the clutches of the Priest of the Sun.
Featuring the University of Tasmania Symphony Orchestra and a principal cast of professional opera singers from throughout Australia, this production also includes a new translation by Music Director, Myer Fredman. Come along and be enchanted by Mozart’s musical and dramatic genius.
