Database Linking
This page is currently being developed to provide information for UTAS teaching staff – to help them create stable and accessible links from the electronic databases.
- This information includes steps in how to create reliable links to journal articles so that the links will work both on and off campus for staff and students.
- The Library provides access to many electronic databases enabling access to thousands of journal articles.
- Almost all of this material is covered by some kind of licence agreement; thereby limiting copying and communication.
- Therefore, the preferred method of communication is to simply link the material at its original URL.
- This can be a problem as some databases do not currently provide stable (permanent or durable) links for use in MyLO, on websites or in course readers or class notes.
For any immediate enquiries about linking articles from UTAS licenced electronic databases – contact Derek Rowlands ext. 2228.
Simple instructions for linking to the various databases will be progressively added to this page over the next month.
