Introduction
This course is offered on a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) basis to eligible domestic students. The objectives of the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching are to improve the standard of learning and teaching by:
- developing both a theoretical understanding of student learning and practical skills in facilitating that learning as it applies to Higher Education;
- promoting scholarship of teaching based on critical self-reflection, research (including practical research into matters of learning and teaching), and peer review;
- developing knowledge and skills in the area of teaching, evaluation and assessment through modelling strategies that lead to deep learning; and encouraging flexible delivery (in terms of both content structure and delivery modes);
- encouraging flexible delivery (in terms of both content structure and delivery modes); and
- developing cross-campus and cross-faculty communities of practice.
These objectives will be pursued through the provision of a flexibly structured program that allows for the needs and characteristics of different discipline fields and different groups with a teaching role. There is a particular focus in this course on learning, teaching and innovating with technology.
Admission & Prerequisites
Completion of a bachelor degree or equivalent. Applicants will be expected to be currently engaged in some form of undergraduate or postgraduate teaching activity in a university setting.

Articulation to/from Course
Credit for relevant units will be given to transferring students from similar programs at the University of Tasmania and other universities. This course will articulate with the Faculty of Education's Coursework Masters course.
