Contemporary Techniques C FCP204

Students are required to achieve a minimum of 50% for both the Aural and Theory components of this unit in order to gain a pass overall.

This unit builds on the skills and understanding gained in Contemporary Techniques B. It is the fourth in a sequence of units that develop essential musicianship skills through the study of jazz and contemporary music theory, notation, aural and keyboard harmony. Students will engage in a variety of activities to connect the theoretical with practical aspects of music making: in music literacy, harmonic analysis, rhythm, and improvisational/compositional techniques integral to jazz and contemporary music practice.
