Human Resource Management Practices A BMA317

Hobart

Introduction

The attraction, recruitment, selection, remuneration, performance management and, when necessary, termination of an organisation's human resources are now widely recognised as critical contributors to organisations achieving their objectives. Today's HR professionals are expected to have sound skills in these areas. This unit, therefore, seeks to use theory and research as the basis for recommending appropriate and practical people-management solutions that HR professionals can draw on in their day-to-day work. The focus is on your development of relevant professional practice skills that are examined from the perspective of HRM specialists and line- managers. The unit provides you with an understanding of the strategic contribution the traditional HR areas can make to profitability and organisational competitiveness.
