From 2018, all new students will undertake their studies with a specialisation in Leadership, through the Bachelor of Education with ProfHons (Specialisation) course.

The Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours (Leadership) is a one-year course intended to enable leaders and potential leaders in education, health, welfare and public service sectors to extend and update their knowledge and to lay a foundation for further professional development in both the theory and practice of Leadership. The course will be offered full time or part time and by distance/on-line, Launceston.

Upon completion of the BEd Prof Hons (Leadership), graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of leadership and its application in the fields of education, health, welfare and/or public service;
  • Critically analyse, evaluate and transform information and critically reflect on professional and personal experience to improve leadership practice in various organisational contexts;
  • Analyse, generate, and communicate effective responses to complex problems;
  • Demonstrate autonomy, well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility as a leader in organisational contexts;
  • Communicate effectively with a range of professional communities across a range of platforms.

Entry requirements

The University requires applicants for admission to the Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours (Leadership) to hold a recognised relevant bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, or five years' relevant work experience.

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

Domestic students enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place will be charged a fee based on the number of units a student enrols in. In 2019, this fee is $44.70 per unit. In 2019, the maximum charge for full time students is $298.

International students

International students should refer to the International Students course fees page to get an indicative course cost.
