The Clearly-in rank should be used as a guide for entry. Note: entry to some courses requires a combination of criteria (ie. folio, interview, GMAT) not just ATAR alone.

Entry into this course is only available through the Bachelor of Education with Professional Honours (Higher Education) E4W

Upon completion of the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching graduates should be able to:

1. foster deep learning in higher education students through the application of:(i) theoretical knowledge of how students learn, and

(ii) theoretical and practical knowledge about teaching, assessment, evaluation and curriculum design

2. engage with, and contribute to, the scholarship of teaching through critical reflection, research, peer review and publication3. demonstrate leadership capacity in learning, teaching and mentoring

These objectives will be pursued through the provision of a flexibly structured program that allows for the needs and characteristics of different discipline fields and different groups with a teaching role.

Course structure

The Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching is comprised of four units each of 12.5% weighting.

ELT501 Foundations of University Learning and Teaching

ELT502 Enhancing Professional Practice in University Learning and Teaching

And any two of:

ELT503 Innovation and Leadership in University Learning and Teaching

ELT504 University Learning and Teaching Development Project

ELT505 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

ELT506 Technology Enhance Learning and Teaching

Entry requirements

Completion of a bachelor degree or equivalent. Applicants will be expected to be currently engaged in some form of undergraduate or postgraduate teaching activity in a university setting.

Credit for relevant units will be given to transferring students from similar programs at the University of Tasmania and other universities. This course will articulate with the Faculty of Education's Coursework Masters course.

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

Annual Tuition Fee is inclusive of the compulsory Student Services and Amenities (SSA) fee. The SSA fee for 2017 is $294 AUD.

International students

International students should refer to the International Students course fees page to get an indicative course cost.
