The Graduate Certificate in Education (Inclusive Education) is a six month course intended to enable teachers and other educational professionals to extend and update their knowledge and to lay a foundation for further professional development in both the theory and practice of inclusive education. The course will be offered full time or part time and by distance/on-line, Hobart

Upon completion of the Grad Cert (Inclusive Education), graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of inclusive education and its application in learning and teaching contexts;
  • Critically analyse, evaluate and transform information and critically reflect on professional and personal experience to improve inclusive educational practices;
  • Analyse, generate, and communicate effective responses to complex problems;
  • Demonstrate autonomy, well-developed judgement, adaptability and responsibility as an inclusive educator;
  • Communicate effectively with a range of professional communities across a range of platforms.

Entry requirements

The University requires applicants for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Education (Inclusive Education) to hold a Bachelor of Education or a degree in a related area.

Fees & scholarships

Domestic students

Domestic students enrolled in a full fee paying place are charged the Student Services and Amenities Fee but this fee is incorporated in the fees you pay for each unit you enrol in. Full fee paying domestic students do not have to make any additional SSAF payments.

Annual Tuition Fee is inclusive of the compulsory Student Services and Amenities (SSA) fee. The SSA fee for 2017 is $294 AUD.

International students

International students should refer to the International Students course fees page to get an indicative course cost.
