Students are expected to maintain a regular schedule of rehearsals throughout the semester.
This unit continues the work begun in the first year of study. In the second year students consolidate the processes already introduced through the preparation and performance of new repertoire. Conservatorium students are expected to keep a rehearsal chart 'book'/journal that details the repertoire and strategies chosen throughout the semester in rehearsal to improve performance.

Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus. 1. Through performance and rehearsal, develop musical ideas to aid in participation in a musically cohesive ensemble
2. Contribute relevant information pertaining to repertoire and performance practice in a collaborative setting
3. Develop instrumental/vocal skills to participate in ensemble performance across a range of styles
4. Identify knowledge and skills required within a group setting to define genre appropriate problems associated with ensemble music making

You cannot enrol in this unit as well as the following:
Semester 1 and 2: Large, and/or conducted ensembles: Weekly 3 hour rehearsals/coaching sessions (12 weeks) or Small ensembles: Weekly 2 hour ensemble performance class/scheduled rehearsals, minimum 6 x 1hr coaching sessions or as timetabled by ensemble directors.
