Introduction

Study of this unit will develop students' analytical, conceptual and technical skills enabling them to produce effective design solutions to a high creative and professional level. Through group critiques, seminars, lectures and one-to-one consultation with staff, students will develop a range of skills relevant to professional practice as designers and designer makers and gain an understanding of the ethical and social responsibilities embedded in design practice.

Teaching Pattern

1 hr Lecture (TOP) 3 hrs (interdisciplinary activities, studio workshops, critiques and appointments) and an expectation of at least an additional 9 hrs of independent practical work per week (13 weeks including an independent study week).
