Introduction

Study of this unit will develop students' analytical, conceptual and technical skills enabling them to produce effective design solutions to a high creative and advanced level. Students develop and refine their personal approach to design practice through a self-directed project in consultation with staff. Through group critiques, seminars, lectures and one-to-one consultation with staff, students will continue to develop a range of skills relevant to professional practice as designers and designer makers.

Teaching Pattern

1 hr Lecture (TOP) 3 hrs (interdisciplinary activities, studio workshops, critiques and appointments) and an expectation of at least an additional 9 hrs of independent practical work per week (13 weeks including an independent study week).
