Courses & Units

Printmaking 2B FSR212

Students build upon the knowledge and technical expertise of the media studied in FSR211/281. You will be encouraged to focus on the development of concepts and ideas through the processes of printmaking and drawing. You will undertake a self-directed project that will explore the materials and processes of your chosen medium and what they offer to the meaning and content of your work. You will be shown techniques in traditional printmaking methods with an emphasis on using non-toxic processes. The emphasis is on experimentation, the progression of ideas in visual form and the knowledge of methods and techniques appropriate to advancing these. This exploratory process is guided through one-to-one consultation with staff through group critique and through studio lectures and workshops that expose you to a broad range of ideas and methods relevant to contemporary art practice.  The unit emphasizes student-directed learning.
