Advanced Topics in Ageing and Aged Care CAD310

Introduction

This unit will examine the contribution of social health research to an evidence base for ageing and aged care. The unit will have a particular focus on the impact of generational and systemic disadvantage, as well as communal capacity and capability, on the health of older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. You will critique the experience of ageing and aged care for people in rural and regional Australia relative to urban settings. The unit will also consider the emerging role of technology in supporting older adults. Through this unit, you will further develop your knowledge and skills in contemporary issues related to ageing and aged care.
