Students will need to contact the unit coordinator, Dr Terry Pinfold, to seek approval for enrolment in this unit and to negotiate supervised laboratory sessions.
The unit entitled Flow Cytometry will develop practical skills and theoretical knowledge of the modern instrumentation, tools and techniques used to examine cells by flow cytometry. You are encouraged to make links between this unit and your research to contextualise knowledge and to assist in unifying the theoretical and practical components and applying them to your research. Areas of study will include application and theory of analytical and sorting flow cytometry and the uses of these instruments and techniques in the research laboratory environment. The particular focus of the practical tasks will be tailored to your research field. This may include but need not be limited to immunology, microbiology, pharmacy, plant or zoology studies.
The unit is offered online with negotiated on-campus supervised laboratory experiences and assessment activities

A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus. A unit offered to both attending students and by distance from the same campus is identified as having both modes of study.
Special approval is required for enrolment into TNE Program units.
