Note:

This unit is taken in association with the final 240 hour PEP unit in the Bachelor of Nursing. For students with altered pathways, permission for a negotiated enrolment with an alternative 240 hour PEP unit may be sought from the School of Health Sciences

Introduction

This unit provides the opportunity for students to optimise and enhance their professional practice. Students will select one of the following three streams:


i) Specialisation
Students who opt for the Specialisation stream will have the opportunity to explore aspects of a chosen nursing specialisation.


ii) Research focus
Students who opt for the researched focussed stream will explore an area of nursing practice with the view to identifying a researchable question.


(iii) Field work experience
Students may be able to opt for field work experience based on availability of opportunities and successful application process.

Students will have the opportunity to develop their Professional Portfolio in this unit.
