Bioscience for Nursing (Advanced Standing) 1 CXA206

Note: This unit is offered as part of Bachelor of Nursing Schedule E (EN pathway). As such, it is assumed that students are Medication Endorsed and have clinical experience. In addition, it is also assumed that students have basic knowledge of human body systems, particularly with regard to structure and basic functions, by virtue of their previous studies.

Students will draw on their previous studies and clinical experience whilst exploring clinically relevant physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology of the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, musculoskeletal and endocrine systems. In parallel with CNA202 Foundations of Nursing Practice and CNA203 Medication Management for Nurses, a series of case studies and clinical scenarios will contextualise the bioscience theory to encourage students to unify the theory and practice components.
