Interior Design Studio 4 KDA215
Launceston
Introduction
This unit develops the ability to generate design concepts and analyse and synthesise a variety of design concerns - including functional, aesthetic, technical and theoretical - into a coherent and creative solution for a commercial, retail, public or residential project of moderate complexity. Students take significant responsibility for managing their development and meeting deadlines throughout the project. Ideas of spatial connection are explored at a variety of scales. Students demonstrate the ability to integrate design and technical concerns through detailing and documentation of connections, junctions and mediating elements. Students further develop their ability to self critique and communicate their design intentions.
This unit may be co-taught with unit KDA221 to allow for blended or discipline specific assessment tasks.
