Health Care in General Practice CNA552

This unit consists of three modules. Module One explores the nature and scope of rural/remote nursing practice and provides students with the opportunity to apply concepts of primary health care, health promotion and determinants of health to particular situations. Module Two focuses on Indigenous health issues and concepts of cultural safety. Module Three examines a range of technological and other communication strategies designed to overcome issues pertaining to 'remoteness' while considering management of the future changes likely to occur in rural and remote practice.
