This subject introduces you to central concepts and basic methods for understanding a workforce. At its most basic level, workforce planning is about getting the right people, with the right skills, in the right jobs at the right time. By undertaking workforce planning, you are equipped with skills to understand and respond to issues such as skills shortages and an ageing workforce. The subject explores workforce planning concepts and ideas such as linking workforce plans to business outcomes, examining the current and future workforce needs and existent/future gaps, analysing employee data, and identifying processes behind the development of an employee database that includes detailed demographic information about employees.
