Natural Resource Management and Sustainability

Natural resource management is about people and communities and the way they understand and interact with the environment. Our vision for NRM is to support well-informed and vibrant regional communities that are committed to protecting natural resources (such as land, water, biodiversity and cultural heritage) and are actively involved in managing resources for their economic, social and environmental values to ensure a sustainable future.

New opportunities are now available to study the science of NRM and undertake honours and postgraduate research on topics of national and international significance through the Cradle Coast campus. The challenges of regional sustainability demand excellence and outstanding scholarship. Students joining our group have the opportunity to study and work in a unique regional environment and interact with leading scientists from across UTAS and based with our national and international partners such as CSIRO and the United Nations Environment Programme.
