Plugging In - Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?
This is the signature event of the inaugural Young Professionals Month 2008. The Cradle Coast Young Professionals Network (CCYPN) welcomes you, as a young professional in the Cradle Coast, to attend.
Friday, October 24 from 9am
UTAS Cradle Coast campus
Mooreville Road, Burnie
The event is split into two parts:
1. Conference - hear from well-respected speakers who will be thought provoking and propose some issues facing young professionals living and working in regional areas.
2. Summit - participate in a summit-style event that is not unlike the Australia 2020 Summit held earlier this year.
The event is free of charge so come with an open mind and take advantage of the opportunity to play a role in the future of the region and then chill out at our "Unplugged" event following the Summit. While you're at it, why not offer a poster or display presentation in the lunch break.
Spaces are limited to 120 people so get in quick to secure your place.

Climate Change - Solutions workshop
Facilitated by Nick Towle, local doctor and one of four Tasmanian Climate Project presenters personally trained by Al Gore.
"A sustainable future is clearly a better future. Working for it is our moral duty to the countless millions of other species that we share this planet with, and the future generations for whom we hold it in trust."
Ian Lowe, Emeritus Professor, Griffith University
This solutions workshop is intended to bring together individuals who appreciate the urgency of tackling climate change and are inspired to engage further in the issue.
The workshop will include a brief review of the climate challenges we all face followed by a highly interactive session. The facilitator will draw on the knowledge and passion of participants in exploring the role of individuals and groups in creating a sustainable future. Participants can expect to leave the workshop informed, inspired and motivated to take action.
