Charles Blackman is one of Australia's foremost figurative artists, renowned for evocative images that move between the dark and light of the imagination. This exhibition, Charles Blackman + Family, draws on the untold story of this great Australian artist’s life as the partner of Genevieve de Couvreur and father of Bertie and Felix Blackman. The hitherto largely unseen works on display are on loan from the private collection of Genevieve de Couvreur who was married to Blackman from 1978 to 1987.

As well as signal works by Charles, Charles Blackman + Family includes paintings by Genevieve and artworks, music and design by Bertie and Felix who have established successful art careers – Bertie in the music industry and Felix as an emerging architect.
