Ella Condon

Ella Condon works within expanded and experimental forms from photography, video and installation to extend upon notions of light and time. The works reflect upon the evolution, degradation, and reformation of light though still, moving image and sound media. Materiality is central to the work and how materiality's content and meaning unfold over time. She recently undertook the position of Visiting Artist at Parsons, The New School, New York. Ella has a Master of Fine Art by Research from Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney, and is a recipient of the Australian Postgraduate Award, Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artists Exchange Scholarship and National Association for the Visual Arts Australian Artists' Grant. She has a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons 1) from Sydney College of Arts, University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Distinction) from the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW.

Ella is a recent TCotA Artist in Residence, who will be engaging across studios and curatorial programs. In her Art Forum presentation Ella will discuss recent projects and her experiences as Art Educator at the MCA, Sydney.

TCotA Forum is a weekly series of free public lectures held at the Tasmanian College of the Arts (Hunter St) during the semester. TCotA Forum welcomes all students and members of the public, providing a unique opportunity to hear local, national and international visiting scholars and presenters from diverse sectors of the arts discuss their area of professional practice.
