 The Marathon Project

Tanya Bailey, Andrew and Diana Cameron, Karen Hall, Serena Rosevear, Amelia Rowe, Patrick Sutczak

The Marathon Project was first conceived in 2014 by Andrew and Diana Cameron.

With a passion for art, landscape, and conservation, Andrew and Diana wished to gather a selection of artists to create a dialogue around their property and invite them to discover its diversity, complexity, and beauty – traits of the property that Andrew and Diana, an artist herself, have been inspired by for many years.

What resulted was The Marathon Project, a collaborative curatorial project lead by Patrick Sutczak that includes visual artists, writers, ecologists, thinkers, and theorists. After two camps in 2015 and an exhibition at Sawtooth ARI in the same year, The Marathon Project has begun and will continue to evolve.

We see The Marathon Project as a convergence point of which we are initiating a conversation with the property, the ecology, the surrounds, the history, and the future of the site.

In this Arts Forum we will extend this conversation through a discussion of the experience of being in the project and the work that resulted from it.
