Foeniculum (Apiaceae) 2:259
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a common and vigorous weed of waste ground and pastures. It is typically a large, dense herb (often more than 1m tall), with dark green leaves divided into thread-like lobes. The whole plant smells of aniseed.
