X monktonii (Napweed) is an uncommon, annual, erect weed. It has
reddish purple flower heads about 10-15mm wide. The phyllaries (the
bracts surrounding the flowers) have light brown appendages that are
neither deeply lobed nor spiny. The leaves are coarsely lobed. |
