Tasmania has
three native species of Leptinella (L. reptans, L. longipes, and L. filicula). The former two are saline species (saltmarshes and
brackish swamps). L. filicula is mainly alpine. They all have
creeping stems with pinnately divided leaves. Each was previously known as a species of Cotula.
