Symphyotrichum  novi-belgii (formerly known as Aster novi-belgii; Asteraceae) not in the Student's Flora of Tasmania
Symphyotrichum  novi-belgii is an escaped garden plant that has become established on the banks of the Tamar River (and perhaps elsewhere). It is a large (often ~ 1m tall and wide) conspicuous, erect herb with abundant flower heads that are often bluish.
