Matthiola (Brassicaceae) not in the Students Flora

Matthiola incana (Gillyflower) has been naturalised in a few places near the sea. The glaucous foliage, the large, dark purple flowers, and the elongate fruit with two horns at the top make this plant unmistakeable.
