Tectcornia (formerly known as  Sclerostegia; Arthrocnemum) (Chenopodiaceae) 3:577
Tasmania has one native species of Tectcornia. Tectcornia arbuscula (= Sclerostegia arbuscula; Arthrocnemum arbuscula) is a common saltmarsh plant with succulent opposite, scale-like leaves. The foliage is very similar to that of Sarcocornia, but the habit is very different. Sclerostegia is an upright, much branched shrub, whereas Sarcocornia spp form ground covers, although the terminal branches are erect. Also Sclerostegia only has 1-3 flowers per node, whereas Sarcocornia has 3-9 flowers per node.
