Silene gallica (Caryophyllaceae) 1:68

 

Silene gallica (French Catchfly) is a widespread and common weed of agricultural and urban areas. It is a more or less erect herb. There are several varieties, including the uncommon, but conspicuous, var. quinquevulnera with red flowers and the much more common, white flowered, var. gallica.
