Like many
other Hibbertia species, Hibbertia procumbens is a small
low growing plant with conspicuous yellow flowers. It is a
widespread and very common prostrate plant that is found in heathy
vegetation ranging from coastal heath in eastern Tasmania to
subalpine areas to button grass plains in western Tasmania. The
distinctive features are the combination of the prostrate habit,
large flowers (about 2.5 cm in diameter), and the narrow, somewhat
succulent leaves.
