In Tasmania,
Calyptrocolea is represented by three species. All these
species were previously included under
Adelanthus.
As with the closely related
Adelanthus, the sporophyte arises from the base of the plant
and is unprotected by a perianth.
Calyptrocolea falcata is the most common species. The
other two species are rare or perhaps overlooked.
A key to
the Tasmanian species of Calyptrocolea is being developed.
