Riccardia is a large genus of wet forest to rainforest
thalloid liverworts represented by 16 species in Tasmania. Members
of this genus are often found growing on rotten logs or on
stream banks. Other than a few distinctive species, members of this
genus require making microscopic sections to tell apart. Material is
best examined fresh for positive identification to be made.
