Calypogeia (Calypogeiaceae)

The Calypogeiaceae is a family of small leafy liverworts and in Tasmania is represented by a single genus and a single species, C. sphagnicola.

C. sphagnicola is a rare liverwort of alpine seepages. Plants are in erect turfs and can most easily be distinguished by having asexual propagules (gemmae) on the shoot apices.
