JACKIELLACEAE

The Jackiellaceae is a leafy liverwort family and in Tasmania is represented by a single species, Jackiella curvata.

Jackiella curvata is a small and common weedy native species of open roadsides, particularly in high rainfall regions.

The leaves of J. curvata have distinctive trigones and contain brown oil bodies which tend to persist even in dried specimens.
