Harpalejeunea is a genus of minute leafy liverworts. In
Tasmania, the genus is represented by a single species, H.
latitans. This small species is an epiphyte on trunks, branches
and twigs in wet forest and rainforest and can often found growing among other bryophytes.
Drepanolejeunia aucklandica
is superficially similar to Harpalejeunea
latitans but may be distinguished by the morphology of the lobe
and underleaf.
