Syzygium smithii (widely known by its old name, Acmena smithii or Lillypilly; Myrtaceae) Not in the Student's Flora

 
Tasmania has one introduced species of Syzygium. This is a very large genus mainly containing tropical and subtropical rainforest trees. The introduced species is Syzygium smithii. This species is a tree with broad, entire, opposite leaves, and has conspicuous flowers and fleshy, edible fruit.
