Eucalyptus johnstonii
is a member of the yellow gum group of species (with
E.
subcrenulata and E. vernicosa), and has the thick, dark
green leaves and yellow-green bark of this group. It grows as a
straight tree, and occurs in south-eastern Tasmania, especially near
Hobart (e.g. Mt Wellington). The main distinguishing feature from E.
subcrenulata is the larger capsules.
