Glyphothecium (Ptychomniaceae)

In Tasmania, Glyphothecium is represented by a single species, G. sciuroides.

G. sciuroides is largely a rainforest epiphyte. In well developed specimens, the shoots are characteristically turned up. The leaves are plicate. On close examination, one may find short filamentous gemmae mixed among the leaves.
