The widespread family, Primulaceae, is represented in the Tasmanian flora by one native and two introduced herbs. Samolus repens, is a native saltmarsh species with alternate leaves. The other members of the family in Tasmania are the common weed species with opposite leaves, Anagallis arvensis (pimpernel) and the garden escape Lysimachia nummularia.
