Leycesteria (Caprifoliaceae) 2:266
One species of Leycesteria has become naturalised in Tasmania. Elisha's Tears (L. formosa; also known as Himalayan honeysuckle) has ovate leaves with acuminate apices and coarsely serrate margins. They are about 5-15 cm long. The conspicuous part of the plant, both at the flowering and fruiting stage, are the large, purplish floral bracts. The inflorescences are pendulous.
