Lythrum salicaria (Lythraceae) 2:226

There is some debate as to whether some populations of Lythrum salicaria are native or introduced. L. salicaria It is also native to Europe and is an invasive weed in a number of areas, including North America. It is a large, erect herb with drooping willow-like leaves and dense terminal spikes of pinkish purple flowers. It is found  near water in locally warm places.
