Salix X fragilis (Salicaceae) not in the Students Flora

Salix X fragilis (Crack Willow) is a common garden plant that has become naturalised in places along watercourses. The rigid branchlets that break with a crack are distinctive. It is considered to be of hybrid origin (hence the X in the species name).
