Banksia (Proteaceae) 3:614  
Banksia is one of the most distinctive and well known genera in Australia. The distinctive feature is the flowers grouped into dense spikes that develop into persistent woody cones. Most species have tough, reasonably large leaves. Tasmania has two native species.
