Lomatia (Proteaceae) 3:612 |

|
Tasmania
has three native species of Lomatia. This genus has largish
flowers, that (like several other genera of Proteaceae) have a
curved perianth tube that opens first along a slit on one side. The
flowers are arranged in terminal spikes or racemes. The fruit is a
follicle that opens out into a distinctive guitar shape (hence the
common name Guitar Plant).
