Orites milliganii
is a uncommon species that grows in the alpine and subalpine
areas of the wettest parts of south-western and western Tasmania. It
grows in the very distinctive (and relictual) montane conifer heaths
and montane rainforests of western Tasmania. It is usually an erect
shrub with thick branches. The leaves are hard, broad and have a few
teeth. They are green or yellowy green on both surfaces.
This species very rarely hybridises with Orites
acicularis to form a shrub with narrow, yellow, upcurved
leaves with teeth.
